About the Artist

My name is David Ma, an Asian-American interdisciplinary artist "who observes and reveals" the vibrant, often complicated portrayals of Asian representation in American culture.

Navigating the mediums of Ceramic Sculptures, Painting, and Video Performances. I search under the clutter of mainstream American culture, looking for remnants of Asian American counterculture that is often niche and undesirable. I deal with a breadth of themes in my work, specifically mortality within an Eastern philosophy + COVID, anger of marginalization, and histories within industrial/raw materials. I collage various beliefs into a clusterfuck of who I am and how I relate to society.
