The Filters, by Roxanne Grooms
The Filters, by Roxanne Grooms, 20" x 16", Acrylic and Colored Pencils on Wood Panel, Unframed
As in all of my paintings, the circle becomes personified to take on a role. The Filters is about our communication and how what we say or intend is filtered through the receivers as to what they hear. Clarification is a necessity in the world full of out-of-context sound bites.
Curated Description: The Filters is a whimsical, abstract composition of mixed media on canvas. Acrylic and colored pencil combine for a detailed tribute to color and circles. The broad color palette and the unique usage of shapes create a vivid composition reminiscent of a science fiction vision of space.
