Given to Rise, by Mark Jesinoski
Given To Rise, by Mark Jesinoski, 72" x 48", Acrylic on Canvas, Gallery Wrapped
Growing up in Minnesota I have always been drawn to water as a source of respite and healing. This series is about water as a source of solace and as a metaphor for living with empathy and strength. While water is incredibly adaptive, changing states or flowing with the terrain, it is paradoxically powerful...It can literally move mountains. This is how I want to be, at once empathetic and powerful.
Curated Description: Given to Rise is an abstract composition of acrylic on canvas. Bubbles of red, black, and blue rise diagonally up the painting, giving the impression of air bubbles rising in water. The soft background and playful dots create a dichotomy of seriousness that results a dynamic composition.
