Artists Explore a New Canvas
Have you ever looked at a tennis court lately? Some artists have left their mark there. A recent New York Times article highlighted cities and artists where great pieces of art can be found on their courts.
This project is named “Art Courts,” an organization spearheaded by the United States Tennis Association to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the US Open. These art courts are bringing enthusiasm and color into communities that are either poor or underrepresented. These art courts are funded by a $500,000 effort from Chase to grow youth tennis.
Artists from around the world have contributed to these efforts. These art courts may have created results to bring tennis back to prominence. Perhaps a little color on the courts can go a long ways.
